The building what is now the Kotku Dubbo Mosque was originally built in 1947 for the Wesley Church. With the formation of the Uniting Church of Australia in 1977 the Wesley Church became part of this union and served the community of Dubbo until 2000. With new Church buildings the uniting Church sold the building that is now our mosque.

With the rapid growth of Islam in Australia as in many places in the Western world it was the right time and place for a mosque in Dubbo. With the assistance of the late Prof. Dr. M. Es'ad Cosan, (may Allah SWT reward him for all his efforts), arranged to purchase the building in 2000.

Thanks be to Allah SWT Muslims in Dubbo and the surrounding areas have a Mosque where they can pray the five salat a day, have meetings and come together as a community.
